About the Book
Everything Must Change is about the ups and downs of the fast life. Also, it’s about a botched jewelry store robbery that I committed, which lead to the tragic death of a father of three and how death subsequently led to years of moral anguish and bitter regret for my former actions. This story is also about the metamophosis of James Wells, Jr., a man-child, strong willed and misdirected, who finally evolved into a responsible adult.
I believe that everyone was placed on this earth first and foremost to serve God. In addition to serving your Lord, we are placed here to find our niche. Having developed a strong spiritual connection, I have begun the long arduous task of self-forgiveness. And hopefully, I pray that one day the victim’s family will find it in their hearts to forgive me for destroying their family structure.
About the Author
After I entered the Maryland Penitentiary I set out to completely change my life. I wanted to finally make my family proud of me. I took advantage of all educational opportunities. First I achieved my 8th Grade certificate, and my G.E.D. Later, I acquired my A.A. degree and finally, in 1995, I graduated with a B.S. degree in Psychology from Coppin State College. For the past 15 years I have been counseling at-risk kids in a couple of prisons. In the past ten years I have spoken with and counseled over 4000 at-risk kids. I want to make sure they make good sound decisions and choices in their lives so that they don’t make the same mistakes I made. Today counseling at risk kids is where my passion is and it’s also what I love doing. Also, I have been tutoring in school on an intermediary level for more than 15 years. I am an advocate for education because today I realize how essential education is.
In 1999 my first book was published, entitled Narrow Vision. The title ‘narrow vision’ comes from the concept that a lot of men/women that enter prison and that are out there breaking laws have a narrow vision about life and how they should live their life. Most men/women break society’s laws and don’t know how much time they can get for the crimes they commit. Narrow Vision is about the fast life, my family, and my participation in one of the largest bank robberies in history.
