Throughout the years the word “saved” has been misused, misunderstood and sadly to say abused. When the question is posed, are you saved? The response echoes “what do you mean by saved? Do I believe in God? Yeah”. Too many people that phrase (are you saved) is interpreted many different ways. To a churchgoer it may mean I’m faithful in church attendance or that I’ve joined a church or even that I’ve been baptized. To a non-church goer it may mean I don’t go to church but I consider myself a good person. To a backslider it may mean I use to go to church and now I don’t so their response may be I used to be. Whatever category you may fall in the main issue is that we need to and must settle biblically what it really means to be saved.
Because of a lack of understanding of Romans 10:8-10 everyone that has ever acknowledged verbally that there is a God or anyone that has experienced a background in a church setting declares to be saved regardless of the lifestyle they may be leading. There are some that will adamantly declare that they are “saved” and all the while they have a joint in their pocket, a liquor bottle in their hand and their live-in lover waiting for them at the house. In the society we live in today, we have men and women being ordained as ministers of the gospel with their homosexual or lesbian lover by their side. Something is drastically wrong with this picture. In addition to all of these outward displays, there are those that have never confessed Jesus as Lord yet they contend that heaven is theirs simply because they are a “good” person. This to is a great deception in the world today. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” Acts

Take a minute to evaluate your life and where you desire to go in life and then adjust it according to God''s word. God loves you more than you can imagine and desires more for your life than you could ever dream. Be encouraged in the Lord and always remember that only the one who finishes the race will recieve “the prize” so run that you might obtain.
