About the Author
Born in a small town in rural southern
She went on to publish in local papers, the “Parents Without Partners Newsletter”, and other works were published in her high school newspaper. Later in her life, after she married, she published two poems in a U.S. Navy newspaper in
Roberta keeps on writing to this day, but has never had any of her works published professionally until her husband of seventeen years, Nick Martin, saw an ad for Authorhouse and helped her to decide to self-publish her first professional work, “The Lighthouse Brigade – Book One, The Journey Home”. This book is the first in a series of three written to entertain their foster children and is dedicated to her mother, Sue, who once asked Roberta a question of what would happen to the children if no one was there to guide them. The Lighthouse Brigade is Mrs. Martin’s answer to the question.
