About the Author

Charles was born in Pennsylvania in 1930 in Vandergrift, a steel mill town renowned for being designed by the famous architect Olmstead. His Father died when he was 12 leaving his Mother with another two year old son and little means of support. Like many of his friends he was raised in the depression years and wanted to gather and appreciate the better things in life. And so he did by quitting school and departing the area on the day he turned 18. This is the story of his trials and tribulations, his stubborn journey and the wonderful events that brought him great satisfaction and Mai-Britt the love of his life.
