The Diary of an American Girl

About the Book

Alison Parker is what some would describe as the all-American girl next door.  She is blonde, cute, personable, and sassy—oh, and a perpetual dieter who is notorious for her motto: “What’s thirty pounds with a face like this.”  However, she is really no different than any other female living on this planet.  We all go through breakups, breakdowns, and hopefully breakthroughs; it’s just how we handle the process that makes us different.  For instance, some women think about taking a broom and beating their husbands when they utter the words “you are chubby” in front of family and friends.  Alison actually picks up a Swiffer and takes action.

This is a book compiled of funny stories from early childhood to present day of how Alison unconventionally handled situations with her dysfunctional family, friends, and relationships.  Some people describe Alison as odd or eccentric.  Maybe she just likes to remind the world that normality is overrated, and life without any storms is rather boring.  It is the high tides and strong currents that keep us awake in life.

About the Author

                        Alison Parker was born and raised in New Jersey and relocated to Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.  While living with her in-laws, Alison needed a creative outlet, so she turned on the computer and started typing away.  Her creative outlet turned into her first book, The Diary of an American Girl.  Alison Parker currently resides in the Midwest.
