About the Book

Heartwarming story of a little girl and her grandfather

Jamie is the story of a little girl, her rag doll and her relationship with her Grandpa. Her parents were killed in an automobile accident and her grandfather, who had nothing but love to give her, raised her. He taught her compassion, sportsmanship and consideration for others. When their boat sank and they met Teddy their lives changed forever. Teddy, a rich financier, took them in and helped them get started. They became a part of his family. Jamie had a wonderful voice and she went from signing on a corner at five years old to raise money to buy food, to a singing career. Read how so many lives are touched by Jamie. She also felt that her rag doll, Josie, always brought her good luck. You will want to read this story over and over again.

About the Author

Eileen (Kennedy) Carey grew up in Brooklyn, NY and attended Catherine McAuley High School. She has been married for 46 years, has three sons, three daughters-in-law and ten grandchildren. Most of the children in the book are named after her grandchildren. They inspired her to write “Jamie” because she wanted an original story to tell them. She hopes this is only the first of many children’s books to come. Her other interests include ballroom dancing, playing the piano and recently learning the violin. Eileen also enjoys crocheting and other crafts. She hopes many children will enjoy this delightful, heartwarming story for years to come.
