About the Author

Najwa Beydoun was born and raised in Kenema, Sierra Leone in West Africa. Throughout this time, she had visited many parts of the world. After 28 years of living in Africa, one place remained that she aspired to visit the United States. When the civil war started in Sierra Leone, Najwa and her family decided to move to the United States, carrying with them the sorrow for what had occurred to their beloved homeland.

Najwa has always been intrigued by all cultures and holds a deep interest in their delectable cuisine. She also possesses a heartfelt passion for cooking and gardening. Najwa finds peace of mind after a long day at work by either cooking a wholesome meal for the family or by spending time in her garden.

Najwa’s talent in creating recipes is suitable for the modern family, cooking with limited time spent in the kitchen. She has previously owned an ethnic food store where she served a variety of meals inspired by her travels. She also enthusiastically catered to neighboring communities. Najwa offered private cooking instruction classes so she could not only teach others the skill of cooking, but also the joy of it.
