With Virgin Eyes

This Magic Night

Deep within, lost among a forest of glistening leaves and sparkling

dew, the scent of sweet flowers in retirement, we sit together,

our souls bared to one another. The moonlight streams down

through the parted branches and gently kisses your face.  It is in

this moment that our very love and happiness can be decided.  It

lies on but a simple whisper. Time passes. It seems an eternity.

Fate hangs heavily in the night air. You look towards the heavens,

the starlight unnaturally bright this magic night. You open your

mouth to speak...

Desire

Welling up within my soul, I feel a surge of hope.  A hope of a 

perfect life, of fulfilled dreams. Days pass, marked by the rise

and fall of the nocturnal sun.  Soon years have passed, leaves have

fallen, and my vision of the life I had hoped for has been

devastated, leaving me to wonder just what might have been. If I

had only let myself live when an opportunity to feel true freedom

arose, would I find myself trapped here, in the life I live now?  If I

had jumped headfirst into the cool rush of the unknown, what

would I have achieved, conquered or gained?  What would I have

lost?  If I had not hesitated when that one perfect chance came

along, would I even be feeling this now?  My curiosity has been

piqued, and no one can ever, will ever know what might have

been if I had only had the courage to show the world who I really

am, and gone for what I had truly wanted all along... my perfect

life, no regrets, no compromises
