Transcending Myself

Pondering

How many seconds, minutes, hours,

countless days filled with showers,

dramas o’er which I opined

winds howling a plethora of pain

passed me by, before I went insane?

Shoots in gently tended garden

freshly yearning to reach the sky like

Julie’s Rudy and GG’s Riley,

Mommy’s Mister stealth and slyly

who all brought wonder to thine eye.

Yet through silver bars and mesh grates,

down shrinking hallways spirals my fate.

Clock ticks away as I’m chained

to bittersweet memories, frail truth

and concrete slabs beneath me.

Inherence

Only you know who you are

and only we know what we feel.

Our two souls wholly intertwined,

with parallel destinies thus aligned.

Though our emotions grow more each day

that slips into the next, yet ever slowly

shall we tread this path through the meadow

where many a love is lost, and too few are found.

Nevertheless, I’m enamoured to be

constantly blessed by such brilliant splendor

and amazed by the wonders that everything

we touch and everything we do seems

to turn to gold, because its ME with you.
