Too Late — A Chilling Review of Our World Today

As long as I can remember I have been told that if history has taught us anything, it is that it does have a way of repeating itself. “Beware of those who love peace more than freedom, they shall loose.”

Turn the other cheek. “The meek shall inherit the earth.” I don’t buy it, and I’m convinced that in order to win, you must be able to swim with the sharks. An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.

As early as 1934, a man by the name of Winston Churchill started to warn the world of the barbarian Adolf Hitler. He warned of Hitler re-arming Germany, which would result in a Second World War. Churchill advised the House of Commons regarding the subject, and was told by Stanley Baldwin, the Prime Minister, to “sit down, Winston, we’ve heard it before.” Baldwin went on to say that he was close to criticizing someone in the evening of his days, but that anyone who would permeate his entire speech of Hitler’s re-arming of Germany was absurd. Too which Churchill replied, “Do not let history repeat these two chilling words: “too late!” The rest is history.

We have now a President, George W. Bush. He has warned about and taken action against the barbarians of our time. Terrorists. Muslim fundamentalists. It is a proven fact that the terrorists have made a comprehensive study of what the United States will do after a terrorist strike. They were convinced that we would do as we have in the past: very little, or nothing, choosing instead to turn the other cheek. Well, this is the first President in our modern days that realizes the signs and has the courage, direction, and responsibility to act instead of re-act. I do believe that he is the right man for the job now. As Teddy Roosevelt once said, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” I support my President, George W. Bush, and his entire Cabinet. I do believe that the anti-war demonstrators that use this war for political gain are fueling our enemies’ fires. I believe I should be able to send my children to a public school and have them repeat, “I believe in the flag of the United States of America…under God…indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all’: without Martin Sheen, Al Pacino and the A.C.L.U. climbing up my ass!
