Abused

Tom and Mary were two great people
Everything they did was good
They would help people when they needed it
They were the pillars in the neighborhood

One day Tom came home drunk
And began to throw fits of rage
He began to beat on Mary like an animal
That belongs in a cage

She told him to stop
He didn’t pay a mind to what she said
When they took her to the hospital
It was too late, she was pronounced dead

No one in his or her dreams had ever imagined
This relationship would take a violent twist
The God we serve has never intended
For love to be like this

If you are in a relationship now
And there is fear and doubt
If it has changed from love to violence
Get your things and get out

IDOLIZED

A friend of Jason told him
“I heard you sing, man you can really go”
Maybe you should go downtown
And be a contestant on The Star Show

Jason’s boss heard him too and said
“Man you will be right back
Your shift will be waiting for you
When you return to the Burger Shack

Jason was nervous at first and said
“Man I know I can do this thing
So he faced the judges, opened his mouth
And began to sing

Three of the judges said “ it was okay
It gave us a little perk
Keeps on practicing you are not ready
It still needs some work

The fourth judge said “the other judges were nice to you
This industry can be much meaner
You call that singing sir
It sounded more like a vacuum cleaner

If you claim that you can be a star
Make sure you remember this one thing
Make sure you have the talent
To act, dance or sing
