This book will deal with truth. There are really two kinds of truth. There is the perceived truth that we use to help us with understanding and function. It makes us comfortable and so we call it true even if it isn’t. It may be considered as an evolving truth in that we may even acknowledge that it is in fact incomplete as we work to complete its form. Then again it may just be a lie that we are comfortable with. The world is flat is an old example as is evolution. Our big bang existence and the anatomy of a molecule or even the human body is expressed and taught as true, as is most science, but give us a few years and that truth will fade into a new one.

We call history to be true but it is often distorted to fit the present day climate.  Why was the American Civil War fought? Why every one knows it was to free the slaves. If that is true, then why was the emancipation proclamation made long after the war started and not at the beginning? Almost any war is hidden in lies but the truth is there was a civil war. Another truth is that people were made free but were they truly free? See it gets confusing especially depending upon the eye of the beholder and his or her motivations. I once saw a live interview of one of America’s oldest living citizens who at that time was one hundred and seventeen and he just happened to be a cowboy in the southwest and black. He had lived through the Civil War and when asked about President Lincoln he said he didn’t much care for the man. Boy that interview was over in a hurry and I guess we learned to watch taped and edited interviews instead of looking deeper into the waters. Me I’m a deep water sailor and though it is more dangerous than staying in the shallows there is a freedom there that makes the journey more fulfilling to me. Since we only have one ticket, why not make the most of it and try the deeper waters. Who knows we just might find the world to be round on the way.
