It was around 7:00 PM and the sun was beginning to set creating long shadows on the street of death below, like a twisted play of tragedy fading to black at the end of the final act. She had been watching the horror as a child looks upon his ant farm, distanced yet grasping for a chance to be that small. Stuck with absolute horror and grotesque interest in this scene. There were now quite a few people including the guards talking and remarking on the happenings below. Nobody was able to pull them self away from the window after the scene it portrayed entered their minds. Only it was real, the people were dropping like flies.
Then the sound of the train missing the station rang out in the stagnant air, it was another emergency broadcast from President Bush. It finally pulled the spectators interest away from the window and into the main wing to watch the nearest T.V. set.
He shattered the world.
“People of America, I come to you now with grave news. It appears that initial reports of the danger this new attack presented were severely underestimated. The toxin was a new mixture of bio-chemical agents that has been named simply doomsday gas. It is an airborne viral strand that can be spread very easily through even casual encounters with infected victims. To place its effective nature into perspective, anyone that contracts the disease will cough and each cough will emit enough of the disease to infect everyone within fifty feet of that expulsion. So far reports from around the world put the casualties in the tens of thousands, primarily the heaviest casualties occurring in and around major city hospitals. The center for disease control is working now and will continue around the clock to find a cure to this hell spawned disaster. In the meantime several steps will be placed into action to attempt to squelch the spread of the disease. The National Guard, along with local police have been instructed to prevent travel into and out of major cities. I am instating a national curfew of 9:00 PM except for associated press and media sources. The curfew and lock down will maintain in effect to prevent any farther spread of the disease. It is important that we all go to our families and stay in our homes until we can cure this thing that plagues us. Without full cooperation on all of our parts it will be impossible to control this thing. Symptoms start with just a cough and while coughing is a natural bodily function if anyone in your household begins coughing or complains of trouble breathing call 911. We ask that you wait for dispatched personnel to arrive before leaving your house. It cannot be stressed enough how important it is to follow all of these rules to the letter. Any variance of these restrictions could lead to your death as well as the death of others. If we hold ourselves together we will stop the spread and give ourselves enough time to find a cure. Time is our only enemy and we will control time it will not control us. Stay tuned to your local and national news for further information. Then the president of the United States began to cough, and Gina began to cough. The whole world eventually began to cough.
