There is a blue curtain hanging near the front of the stage. A handsome young man enters from stage right. He is tall, slim, has long light brown hair, and blue eyes. He is wearing a white robe that comes down to his knees. He is dialoguing with the Father who does not appear on stage.
Son: Dad, you created dinosaurs on Earth!
Father: Give me a break, Son. This is my first attempt at creation. I have not had experience at creating things on Earth.
Son: This makes you look bad, Dad.
Father: I think that I did a good job when I begat you and made you equal to me.
Son: But Dad, I think that you should improve on your work.
Father: I have a solution. I planned it in advance. Trust me, I know what I’m doing.
Son: What will you do?
Father: I will make a meteor strike the Earth to kill all those awful creatures.
Son: Billions of years of evolution gone to waste!
Father: Son, we do not measure time. I will set up a new program of evolution. Does several billion more years really matter to us? We are eternal.
Son: I would like to go to Earth some time after your new creation to see first-hand how things worked out. I want to experience for myself the feelings of those human creatures called people.
Father: You are asking a great deal of me, Son. If you go down there, you will be crucified. That is a very painful and slow death.

About the Book
JOSHUA, MY SON is a most unusual play about the Lord, Jesus Christ. It was specifically written for the stage. It does not require large groups of people on stage at the same time. Very little scenery is needed. The major focus is on Jesus and His teaching.
The miracles performed by Jesus are not depicted on stage. The only miracle in this play is the raising of Lazarus from the dead. Even here, we do not see a tomb. We only see the risen Lazarus emerging from stage left. The crucifixion scene occurs off-stage. Only the voice of Joshua is heard from stage right.
A presentation of this play would be an excellent way of celebrating the Easter Holiday.
