About the Book
The author penned Rise and Be Healed during a period of time while he was recuperating from a broken back. While lying in bed reading and meditating he received the quiet stillness and peace which comes only from the Holy Spirit. While in this state of grace he began to write the thoughts, which flowed from his heart. What came from the following months of writing was a message with a purpose or if you will, a purpose with a message.
This book attempts to educate, encourage and empower its readers. The message is confrontational and healing. An easily understood road map to a new and meaningful life for the suffering alcoholic/addict.
About the Author
The author’s foremost qualification is that he is recovered from 24 years of alcoholism and addiction. He has been employed as a counselor at private treatment centers in
He has served as the executive director of a corporation, which owns and operates a number of halfway houses. He authored and instructioned an out patient treatment program for “high risk” clients of the Federal Department of Probation.
He was instrumental in the formation of “Recovery Through Christ”; a Christian based twelve-step recovery program for alcoholics and addicts. Our author has been utilized by the local court system as an “expert witness” in cases involving felony substance abuse cases.
He assists local churches and pastors in establishing Christian outreach programs. He continues to assist local mental health programs with support for “high risk” and felony juvenile’s offenders. He has spent the last seventeen years trying to give back what given to him.
