REAL LIVE DRAMA

I changed I now wanted to be a successful young shop owner and businessman. What changed the pattern of my thinking was while I was in county jail in 1977 I started reading the new testament psalms and proverbs and one evening before chow time I just so happened to read the 1977 issue National Geographic of the establishment I flipped and a new view point of life came to me. These two books first changed me. The next thing that happened to me should I say unique and made me feel special a little is one day while I had my shirt off and had to call a meeting on the tier right before the meeting was over Pretty Tony said Harry what’s that on your back it looks like a little monkey on your back and laughed I didn’t know what he was talking about and I didn’t have time to think about it right then. I was to busy trying to make the right moves so I wouldn’t get hit while I was in there. Sometime after taking a shower and glancing at what Pretty Tony was talking I now knew I had a birth mark there he told me something I didn’t know. So I started hair school I started associating theories and facts primarily with the standard text book   of cosmetology and I then seen a theory and a fact of higher education proven. At times when I would stay in after school I would play cards with Terry he lived in the basement in our building. And just out of boredom I played solitary by myself so I started to just look at each picture of cards such as all Queens Jacks Aces and Jokers this was a BEE deck of cards when I looked at the big Joker all of a sudden it hit me the little infant picture and my birth mark had a similar look but uniqueness about it all was I had a middle initial and it was B. and that started me to thinking about how my grandmother had told me to stop lying about my name. And that’s when I realized it wasn’t on paper but me and my brother were Blacks. So I was homeless and hanging out at the shop and the owner who was my partner and did my hair decided to let me work and stay in the shop that was to be for two months. And it came to me what mama had said go to my uncle he knew every trick in the book. And since my brother was dead I felt their  was nothing left there for me. I decided to leave I went to Ohio with family. I made it to my uncle’s house in June 30 days before I would be 26 years old. I was happy to see my uncle and all of my cousins. While there I hung out with my family I got a job doing construction and was later hurt on the job and had to quit work without any compensation. I stayed at my aunt’s house until I got well and moved in with mama’s first cousin he was a preacher with a church and I got active in church. In all my years of growing up mama took me and my brother to church once and that was for New Years Eve. We kept a bible at home and we believed in GOD but it was just something about church. But GOD steered me to churches because when I started living homeless I had to go to a lot of different churches and services to eat and other things. One day while talking to my cousin Billy he said let’s go over our uncle’s house and we got there we talked for a short time and my uncle said Sugar-Man my daddy’s shot gun is in the room he wanted me to see it he brought it out and in my amazement it was what could have been an antique collectors piece it was nickel gray but what struck me the most it was inscribed Black Prince mama never told me about this a good special feeling ran all through me.
