MY
I used to lie in bed at night
And think of eternity.
Just what that meant and where it was
And wondering, what about me?
I knew there was a heaven,
And I knew there was a hell.
But what I did not know,
Where was I to dwell?
As I thought of judgement day,
It would put me in despair.
When I tried to fall asleep,
The fear was always there.
I began to read the Bible
To see what it did say.
Soon I was in tears
As I began to pray.
“Dear Lord, I am a sinner,
Forgive me, will You please.”
Then, I felt my heart assured.
It was very much at ease.
For then, I knew by FAITH
In Jesus Christ, I’m free.
For all my sins were paid,
When they nailed Him to a tree.
Now, when I lie in bed at night,
My dwelling place now known.
Someday to spend eternity
In heaven as my home.
TWO SPECIAL SONS
God chose us among the many
To gift us with two special sons.
For it was God’s will, His own desire,
That Don and Steve be the ones.
They have touched the hearts of many,
As well as our very own,
With their love, their faith and their caring,
To all they have shown.
At times it’s not been easy,
In fact, some times are tough.
But knowing that God is in control
To me that is enough.
So I put my faith and trust
Into His loving care.
For no matter what the future holds
I know He is always there.
I praise God for choosing us
To love and cherish both.
I do believe because of them
My faith in God shows growth.

About the Book
This collection of poetry and anecdotes
was created when the author began
expressing some of her
“Captured Moments” in rhyme.
Over the past twenty years,
her poems have expanded from writing
just about
personal expressions about her faith,
and the faith of her two sons,
both of whom are mentally disabled
and are unable to express their
Christian faith in the traditional way.
The poems and anecdotes recall events
from the past, giving them a place
within her heart, as well as giving them
voice by sharing her faith in
Jesus Christ through poetry.
About the Author
Carole Barber is the mother of two mentally disabled sons. Much of her inspiration is found in these two children of God. She writes with her heart on every page. Simple, yet powerful verses are written with the single purpose of praising the Lord. Sharing her thoughts occasionally with friends and family, she never dreamed so many people would be touched by them. Believing too, that God wants her to share her faith through her poetry and short stories it has been His inspiration for Carole to publish her work. “Captured Moments” is the first completed work in her quest for sharing her faith. It is her prayerful hope that many more will be reached in this way.
