About the Book

New York City lights, fast money, drugs and alcohol attracted the very young Diamond McGee.  Raised by a neglectful, licentious and drug addicted mother, she easily became drawn to the streets of the Lower East Side, Manhattan.

At the age of sixteen, Diamond was already a high-school drop out, a prostitute and heavily obsessed with heroin.

During the course of her addiction and promiscuity she endures an attempt at suicide, rape and the pain of being hurt by those she thought she loved and loved her.

After broken promises, unrealistic dreams and a broken heart, reality hit her fast and hard with the dark truth of being diagnosed with HIV.

Years and several obstacles later, she relives the incidents that led her to her terrible misfortune.  “Before I Die...” tells Diamonds’ riveting and compelling story of despair and hope.
