A Gift From My Heart to Yours

A Wish For Peace

If I had one wish, I’d wish for peace,

and all weapons worldwide would cease.

People could find peace, in a civil way,

if only I could make, that wish today.

Every last soldier, would come home,

never more, would they need to roam.

The world would have to wish this with me,

for if not, it never could be.

I know there’s hope in communication,

talking things out, resolves situations.

Peace at home, and peace overseas,

peace for you, and peace for me.

If our leaders could act as neighbors,

the peace talks, would not be a labor.

Country to country, nation to nation,

neighbor to neighbor, a good situation.

For our children, I wish for peace,

may they hear, the gunfire cease.

May they hear, the sounds of silence,

and never live, in fear of violence.
