About the Book

A collection of poetry from the perspective of a British-born West-Indian living in the United States, Lovechild is the first of a lyrical trilogy set out to deal with the growing pains, learning curves and joy rides in this unpredictable, contradictory feature we call life.

Reflecting the conflicts that occur between our heart-felt desires, spiritual requirements and awakening realities, it is designed to offer guidance, assurance and plausible expressions to those who try, fail and try again.

Written with the utmost passion and fury, Lovechild is born to be a personification of what we stand and fall for.

About the Author

Born and raised in London’s East End to West Indian parents, Ricardo Modeste was exposed to a host of different perspectives from an early age. This multi-cultural backdrop coupled with a curious and open mind, to nurture an understanding of the affairs that are common between us.

Balancing the scales of cause and effect, he is familiar with the aches and pains that plague so many, in the struggle to break the cycles and destroy the stigmas that haunt us.

His mission: to uncover the emotions that hold us hostage; to revel in the passions that excite our beings; and to provide a platform from which our hopes and fears can be dealt with honestly and openly.
