About the Book
Your reading of this book is an indication that you have a desire to maximize your potential. First, you must understand that this is a life-long process, and also, it is a continuous pursuit. To maximize involves doing something you have never done and going somewhere you have never been. In essence, it is doing more than you have ever done, and going farther than you have ever gone; ultimately, it is experiencing something that you have never experienced. God has given all of us something to work with; we owe it to ourselves and to God to use what He has given us for His glory and therefore, fulfill our purpose in this life. Everything we have belongs to God, and He has placed all that we have in our care. Hence, we are stewards over everything that God has given us; this includes our finances and other material possessions, opportunities and time, gifts and talents, and body and mind; what we do with what God has given us is our stewardship. We can be sure that a day is coming when God is going to require us to give an account of what we have done with His stuff. Maximizing your potential will ensure your escape of the harsh punishment received by the unfaithful servant in Matthew 25:14-30. As long as there is breath in your body, you will have an opportunity to maximize your potential. For example, everyday of your life you are going to experience some change; you may not be able to see the difference, and you may not be able to feel the difference, but you will never be the exact same person today that you were yesterday. Today, you are a day older; therefore you will see a little more, and you will do a little more. The point here is, since change is inevitable, siege the opportunity to maximize your potential by not doing business as usual, but by doing unusual business. Sometimes you may feel that you are of little value and have no potential. Nevertheless, if you seek God through prayer and fasting, He will show you who you are and will reveal to you what He has given you. Also, He will make known to you His will and empower you to accomplish His purpose in your life; it is with these truths in mind that this practical approach to maximizing your potential has been written. ... Therefore maximizing potential in any area requires an effective system of communication. We need to be able to communicate in order to learn or teach. Also, it is necessary in order for the church to fulfill its purpose. Without communication, the church would not be able to train or teach new converts. There would be no meaningful fellowship, nor worship; neither would there be any beneficial ministry and evangelism without proper communication. In order for the church to maximize its potential for ministry, it must be able to effectively tell humanity about the love of Jesus. On the day of Pentecost, Peter proclaimed the Word of God to the people from the surrounding area with such an effect that more than 3000 souls were added to the church. The power of the Holy Ghost empowered Peter, and other uneducated men, to break the language barrier. Because the people understood the message, they were moved to ask, “Men and brethern, what shall we do?” When we lack an effective communication system, we may have experiences similar to those that took place at the
