About the Book

Caleb Morgan, a widower for five years, is unbearably lonesome. In desperation he advertises in a singles magazine for a female companion. Fiona Swailes, an inveterate matchmaker, answers his ad on behalf of her friend, Minda Casady, who is currently in New Zealand doing research for a book. Caleb’s daughter, Kari, is furious when she finds out about her father’s blossoming romance with Minda. She cannot accept the idea of anyone taking her mother’s place and sets forth to destroy her father’s romance by whatever means necessary.

Caleb’s son, Luke, takes the opposite view and does everything he can to back his father in his pursuit of happiness. Caleb and Minda weather a series of bad things happening to them until something happens that drives them apart. Whether or not they can get past it remains to be seen.

About the Author

Berniece Lovell has enjoyed storytelling since grade school.  She grew up on a farm.  She told stories to whoever would listen – even the cows.  After graduating from business college, she was employed by a prominent insurance company in the Midwest.  Her storytelling was put on hold for many years since she had a demanding job and gave it her all.  Upon retiring, she had the time to return to the business of storytelling.  She has written three novels but the third one is the closest to her heart.  This is the reason she chose to have it published first.  It is seasoned with humor and many stories.  She makes her home in Iowa with Cricket, her cat.
