1. I believe in God, Universal Intelligence, Higher Power or White Light. All the titles can be used interchangeably.
2. I believe in life after life, and re-incarnation. Re-incarnation means that the soul re-incarnates in another body after the physical experience of death.
3. I believe in communication with souls who have passed on.
4. I believe guardian angels and other guides in all aspects of our lives help us all.
5. I believe thoughts are things. Everything we do originates from a thought. Thoughts become actions. What you think, Good or bad, becomes your reality. That’s why it’s important to think positive thoughts.
6. Like attracts like. People’s energy pattern or vibration is what attracts them to others. Positive people attract winners, negative people attract losers. In order to change your life, change your thoughts, actions, and energy patterns. You hear people say things like, “being around her makes me sick”, or “this place is killing me”. They are talking about energy. For instance, there is quite a different energy pattern in a church, as contrasted to a porno shop. “He/she gives me bad vibes”, is a frequently heard saying. What that means is the two people’s energy patterns don’t mix, usually because one is on a high spiritual vibration, while another is on a low spiritual vibration. So the places you go, whom you interact with, and your thought process all contribute to a positive or negative life experience.
I believe in Universal Intelligence, not a bearded, robed man who doles out rewards or punishment to people based on some type of indiscriminate spiritual lottery system. If good people are rewarded, and bad people should be punished, all bad people should suffer, right? Judeo-Christian ethics tell us that good people are rewarded in the afterlife. It also says that the bad are forgiven. This never made sense to me. If bad people are forgiven in the afterlife, and not punished, but are rewarded in the physical world, that they never had to take responsibility for their acts. For myself, I believe in darma and karma, which means you get paid back for what you did that was good and bad.
Spiritualists believe it is possible to communicate with souls who passed on. We also believe that a soul re-incarnates many times until the soul learns all it was supposed to learn. Finally, it attains a state of perfection and lives in the light forever, and doesn’t need to re-incarnate again.
7. I also believe in karma and darma. Darma is what each soul comes into a lifetime with in the positive side, or the rewards a soul gets for the good deeds they have done. Karma is what each soul comes into a lifetime with on the negative side, the deeds they have to atone for. Here are two examples of karma and darma. A poor man suddenly wins a lottery for 10 million dollars. The darma that helped him win might have been for something he did to help others in a past life. Likewise, we hear of wealthy people who suddenly lose everything for no apparent reason. The reason is that in this life, or a previous one, the man did something negative. Suddenly losing everything was his karma.
8. I believe in spiritual retribution, or what the layman calls pay back, or what goes around, comes around. For instance, if a person steals money from another, he will have something important taken from him. Also, if you wish something negative on someone else, it will return something bad to you. Before I started practicing metaphysical laws I was always angry or mad because things didn’t go my way. I was the spiritual road cop of the world. I wanted to make sure that people who hurt me would pay. Now I don’t have to get even. My anger has gone. I’m not saying people never hurt me by negative acts, but if they do, I know they will have to pay the spiritual price for their wrongdoing.
9. Nothing that happens is a coincidence, but happens for a reason. Every incident has a physical and spiritual reason. For example, a person who was very wealthy, but not a spiritual person, loses all his wealth through bad investments. Physically, he seems very badly off monetarily. Spiritually, when he loses his money he becomes more humble, human, a much better person. The reason he lost his wealth was to mature spiritually. As the layman says, everything happens for a reason. The same thing occurs in the spiritual world. There are no accidents, coincidences, or chance occurrences.
10. We each have a free will. Free will can help a soul choose the better or right path for itself. Your circumstances can change quickly and dramatically by using your free will. For example, someone offers you drugs. Your free will dictates yes, I’ll take it, or no I won’t. If you decide no, your free will can take advantage of another good choice. If your free will says yes to drugs, you may get sick or die, and then you have no choices left to make. With free will comes responsibility. When you make a good choice, you can help yourself and others. A bad choice hurts not only you, but also your friends and family.
Finally, spiritualists believe no soul is ever closed to redemption. No matter how many bad choices we make, God truly loves each of us and wants each soul to live in His light.
