About the Book
The best way to describe GUNFLNT
CRITTERS AND OTHER NORTH WOOD WONDERS or what was the
inspiration behind it is instant love!
In 1999 in spite of the ‘Mother Nature Blow down welcome committee’ and
being stranded on the Gunflint Trail for 3 ½ hours. The smell, the beauty, the serenity and
wilderness enticed me with a desire to spend more time on the Gunflint and
explore its roughed ness. As more photos
were taken of different animals, plants and places I wanted to share these
experiences with others who may never have the opportunity to visit this area
and a guide for those who want to explore it. It is a guide to identifying the
wild flowers that you see in he woods.
Look but don’t touch, leave things to Mother Nature and respect the
forest. Every day is a new thrill with new experiences and opportunities. Already thoughts of a new book are churning
around in my mind. Look for in the
future The Gunflint and Beyond. This will take you to areas surrounding the
Gunflint.
About the Author
The best way to explain the
author is enthusiasm without formal journalism experience. Her love of nature since she was
introduced to the Gunflint inspired her to take
many photos which she wanted to
share with others. The summer of 2003 at the cabin was spent
compiling these memoirs of all that she has seen and done on the Gunflint since
the first visit
