About the Book

In The Rosetta, A Handbook for Transcendent Experience by Integrating the Metaphors of God, Mark Dobson explores the metaphors by which the world’s religions convey their profound messages.  While strictly literal appraisals of scriptures have deviated from intended meanings, resulting in centuries of otherness and strife, a literate reading can resolve all differences by pointing towards the essential content, waiting just beyond the reach of words.

Side-by-side passages from east and west, illuminated by prophetic lyrics of popular music, reveal remarkable synonymy in this rewarding journey through the barriers of language to the unity underlying all faiths.  Designed for accessibility and application, The Rosetta presents selections in a manner intended to provide the reader with a context for personal transcendence of the mundane world and a knowing communion with Oneness.
