About the Book

Everyday you see something else in the papers about some kid doing some amazingly insane act beyond our understanding. Then you see kids dressed weird, listening to violent music, and speaking in such a dangerously formal way, and you just can’t help but point the finger. Well, an understanding has to be reached before a generation’s freedom is completely stripped. Those insane things they do, that comes from somewhere. What that source is, no one really knows. A Dose of Pure Teenage American Anxiety is 200 + pages of figuring out that answer through the author’s experiences, and this author is not a doctor or a scientist. He’s a normal twenty year old doing everything we do, and he thinks a lot.

A Dose... was written by a person that was labeled... different. He was different because the people who know what is “normal” called him different. Now Chris Massa is on a mission to not only stand up for himself, but for an entire generation that has its individualality stripped by an older generation that supposedly knows what’s “best” and what’s “normal.” You see Chris belittles them for once. He turns the blame to the parents, the teachers, political leaders, employers, and role models. Basically it’s a book of venting! If you ever wanted to take a hellish look into the negative, faithless, and miserable world of an American teenager, the opportunity has arrived.

About the Author

Chris is twenty years old inching ever so close to the big 2-1 (and insanity!). He resides in Orlando where he attends the University of Central Florida and studies film and television production. He has worked in restaurants for almost six years and works nights to pay his tuition.

He wrote A Dose--in the midst of the ever so fun age of nineteen when he was arriving at some hard truths about the world we live in. He wrote it with the hope that it could lead him to a better life in which he can openly and creatively interpret what he sees, and also gain knowledge without outside interference from anyone. He considers himself a “martyr” for a very misunderstood generation. His ultimate goal is to poke at the world’s problems, but in a more neutral, youthful, and even humorous manner.
