Marriage Separation Divorce shares Kathy Elliott's Troubled journey from Despair to Hope Kathy Elliott suffered years of brutal mental and physical abuse during her marriage, but the final straw was finding a peephole into her 13 yr old child's bedroom. Her book of poetry chronicles the path Elliott took afterwards that led her to find herself during a period of desperation.

About the Author

I was born March 11, 1973 in Barbados, West Indies. During the early stages of my pregnancy I migrated to USA in the winter (March) of 1994 and in October give birth to a beautiful baby girl, Rakeema Elliott. After my daughter’s father residing in Barbados decided that he was no longer man enough to support his daughter I was forced to join the welfare line. I decided school was the only option to improve my life. I attended Jon Louis Beauty School gained cosmetology license only to realize that my heart was not into hair. After some intensive thinking I enrolled Business Administrative program Drake Business School in 1999. Graduated Valedictorian my first career journey as a Financial Aid Advisor. My urge to work more directly with the students pushed me to accept the position as an Admission Representative. This field allowed me to plan people’s career. I was now changing lives by presenting the importance of education and using my life as a testimony.Metropolitan College of New York is where I acquired my BA degree in Business Management. I got married to my dream husband in 2002. After the wedding vows came the mental and physical abuse. I grew up as a child seeing my mom being abuse constantly by my dad.16yrs my mom lived in an abusive relationship and eventually she said the words, “I had enough. Never dream that I would walk the same path. I suffered years of brutal mental and physical abuse during my marriage, but the final straw was finding a peephole into my 13-year-old child’s bedroom.
