Conner’s letters became my comfort. Late at night, I’d lie in my bed and read them. I felt so rejuvenated by his sense of who he was. He knew what he liked and what he didn’t like. He was as well-read as any college professor, because he utilized his time wisely, and that encouraged me to want to learn more about myself.

“You know Dani, you make me feel things that I haven’t felt for so long. Your affection does something to me. I am hated in here. You’ll never know what it is like to live in a world where you are so hated. I always know that I am alone and if I forget, I’ll be reminded. I am divine because of it. Because anyone who bears a tremendous burden, and conquers it, is what makes him superhuman so I don’t curse my fate.”
I realized too that I had given him what he wanted: a friend, someone to talk to, someone who wanted to listen. We came together at the right time in our lives.

This is a story about one woman's incredible journey through the justice system and back, which is motivated by a love that releases Daniella from the shackles of the past and which points her on her own path of self-discovery and freedom.

This story was inspired by a spiritual reading that was given to Leah, wherein she was told she was a writer in her past life. Leah, unsure if she even believed in past lives, was more than a little skeptical. But she followed the advice of the seer and created this inspirational tale of the trials of love and the American justice system based on a true story.
In her first novel, Leah eloquently creates a story that will have a place in everyone’s heart.
This is sure to be the first of many more books to come for Leah.
