Joy Unspeakable and full of Glory
Though you have not
seen him, you love him; and even
though you do not see him now, you believe in him and
are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you
are received the goal of your faith, the salvation of
your souls.
[I Peter 1:8-9]
To have a joy inside of you that
no one or any circumstance can stop is the true fulfillment in this life.
In knowing Jesus, there is true
lasting joy! Joy is a fruit of God’s Spirit that He grows from within us.
There is also a counterfeit
joy. This comes from the flesh and the
world, but it is only for a season and then it fades away. It is derived from looking for something
externally for fun or happiness – something or someone to sustain and make us
happy, joyful and fulfilled. It becomes
a vicious cycle; because without God it is a relentless pursuit that leaves us
empty and void.
Christians sometimes fall into
this cycle. We meet the Lord Jesus
Christ and we have a new love in Him, but sometimes our circumstances do not
change right away. So, the same old
patterns start over again. Trying to find our joy in people, places and things. This is futile.
Beloved of God, “joy unspeakable
and full of glory,” only comes from a relationship. When the relationship with God is in right
standing (righteousness), we are content in Him – because, “
... in Him we live and move, and have our being.” [Acts 17:28]
In Him, every blessing is
fulfilled. Because He is our blessing,
there is nothing more outside of Christ!
Yield to Him, come to Him, press
into Him, and He will complete every desire of your heart. From before the foundations of the world He
chose you. To be His Bride, you must
yield and let Him overtake you and overpower you. Allow Him to consume you with His passion and
glorious love. His Bride will swoon and
will melt in His presence.
You will be dressed in white
linen and your joy will be unspeakable and full of glory. Jesus is alive! Now, look into His beautiful countenance and
allow His fire to melt your soul. He is
so beautiful; the fairest of ten thousand.
He is our love song. The Spirit
and the Bride say, “Come.” Oh, Lord! You
have captured our hearts.
You my beloved belong to
God. You were chosen before the
foundation of the world. You were hand picked by God.
God loves you so much! As God’s children, many times we are too hard
on ourselves. He is the potter, and we
are the clay. He is forming us into the
image of His very own Son. We are not
able to form ourselves, no matter how much we try or want to do so. The Lord alone knows what fire to use and
when to purify our lives in order to make us His vessels of honor. This process cannot be rushed. It is here a little and there a little. If not, the fire of God would consume
us. He loves us too much to allow that
to happen. Be patient with yourself in
this process. Do not expect more of
yourself than even the Lord does.
