About the Book

The Uncommon Book of Prayer is Mr. McNally’s second book (however, the first to be published), and represents a study of prayer that looks intently into the Word of God.  As an evangelical Christian the author points his readers faithfully into scripture to examine the heart of prayer...our relationship with God.

With our relationship as centerpiece, the author examines Jesus’ prayer habits, the content of his prayers, and his teaching on prayer.  Along the way, the author provides activities and questions for groups and individuals to deepen their understanding of the concepts and application of scripture.

The author discusses the role of the Holy Spirit in prayer, prayer in the early church, the diversity of prayer, Paul’s prayers for the churches, and the desperate prayers of the Psalmist and Job.  The author even gives his take on the prayer that Jabez once uttered.

This book will help you better understand prayer by helping you to examine it from God’s perspective...and possibly bring you closer to God and your brothers and sisters in Christ in the process.

About the Author

Rick McNally holds a BA in Bible Theology from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.  He is a former associate pastor and currently a stay at home Dad, busy caring for his four young boys, home schooling, serving in the local church, and writing books.  He enjoys writing and is humbled by the fact that it was his situation in life that encouraged it.

Rick desires above all else to see the local church rediscover its place in the Gospel through obedience to scripture, thoughtful corporate study, deep love for others and humble leadership.  He believes that the church is one of God’s indispensable tools of sanctification for believers and disciples...and it should be a witness of profound love for those outside.
