About the Book

Quest for the Soul is about the age-old search for our inner spiritual nature.  A selective review of the literature of ancient and modern cultures explores the insights and wisdom of some of the world’s greatest minds.  The ancient Egyptian, Hebrew, and Greek cultures and the religions of India all provided thoughtful, evocative ideas about the soul.  Christianity, the western esoteric tradition, and science...along with modern Judaism, Hinduism, and Buddhism...took these ancient notions of the soul and continued to develop them up to the present time.  What emerges is a surprisingly coherent body of knowledge.

This is a scholarly text with a wealth of footnotes.  But the book is written in an easy-to-read, conversational style.  In a reviewer’s words:

Quest for the Soul is a masterpiece that weaves together the history of the soul through past ages up to the present time.  Its rich tapestry of carefully woven strands brings the soul to life.  This living history of the soul creates understanding and meaning of our purpose in life.  Its kaleidoscopic view makes it essential reading for all students of human evolution, whatever the field.  The book is a classic for all seeking closer relationship with the soul.
