"Two Million Mile Drive"

The band off times did not stay where I did. They didn’t like to spend their money on a room. The following story happened to Jimmy, my guitarist: It was a stormy night in Wichita Falls, Texas. The band had been out drinking after the job. Jimmy is in bed. His motel door is blowing open and close in the rainstorm. It finally wakes him and in the darkness he walks over and secures the door. When he climbs back in bed, there is something big and wet in bed with him.

Here’s what happened. When his door was blowing open, some big old dog came in to get out of the rain. When Jimmy got out of bed to close the door, the dog crawled in the nice warm bed.

Texas-Oklahoma Line

We are driving into Texas from Oklahoma. At the Welcome to Texas sign, I have a flat tire. In the snow, can’t find my hubcap. We drive into Texas and play five days. Now, leaving Texas on the same road, I stop at the Welcome to Texas sign. The snow is now melted. Get my hubcap, put it on and drive on.

First Date With Cheri

First dinner date with Cheri, took her to a revolving restaurant overlooking the city. Put her on the outside, by the windows so she could have a good view. After dinner, she can’t find her purse. We look everywhere. Since I didn’t know her, she could have left her purse in her room. Did notice a couple at the next table staring at us. Now I know why.

When Cheri was sitting by the window, she put her purse up against the wall. The wall is stationary but we were not. As we were having dinner, we moved forward. Her purse stayed behind. That couple was watching us because they were stealing her purse. We spent the night calling all the credit card companies to cancel her cards.
