A Mother's Prayer
She sits alone in contemplation
The look of worry on her face
Her frets and fears are haunting
Refusing to be erased
She stares in silence toward the distance
The look of sadness in her eyes
Another apron string is loosened
Another sorrowful good-bye
She has a heart of heaviness
Compared only to her faith
They're under God's watchful eye
Protected by His grace
So Mother, why do you worry,
As you quietly sit and stare?
Could it be that Mother
Is simply saying a prayer?
Storehouse of Blessings
God gave me a storehouse of blessings
But I kept them locked inside
Too afraid to open the door
A wealth was being denied
God gave me a storehouse of blessings
But I misplaced the key
Not willing to take a look
At what awaited me
God gave me a storehouse of blessings
Riches beyond compare
But I would not venture in
To see what glory was there
God gave me a storehouse of blessings
I could not have asked for more
It took the simple words of a
friend
To give me the courage to open
the door
God gave me a storehouse of blessings
And the strength to continue on
Because others already know
The place where I belong
Because I Can
I want to write the words
That will change the hearts of
men
I want to capture all the anger
And erase it with my pen
I want to leave a smile
Glowing upon each face
And stay behind to live on
When I have left this place
I want to pull a heart’s string
And bring a tear to an eye
For we prove that we are human
When we allow ourselves to cry
I want to encourage hope
And give strength to go on
I want to keep you company
When the nights are very long
I want to bring you happiness
And help you to find peace
I do this when I’m able
My own soul to release
And if you wonder why
I want to touch my fellowman
The answer is so simple
God said to, and because I can
Only God
Only God has the answers
When we stop and wonder why
Only God can heal our broken
hearts
And dry the tears from our eyes
Only God can see us through
The changes we must face
Only God can save our souls
And bless us by His grace
Only God can take the night
And turn it into day
Only God can redirect us
When we’ve strayed and lost our

Only God can light the pathway
Of our lives that we must trod
So where do we turn for the
