POEMA EPICO LOS CINCO ELMENTOS (FIVE ELEMENTS--AN EPIC)

WATER

A river is born
in the birth pangs of elemental furies –
thunders screaming ecstasies,
lightnings sweating streams of blaze,
clouds caressing creation’s Os,
delirium seeding dark dark
irrevocably dark inane.
The mighty Atom broke
unleashing
million billion trillion fleets,
and argosies of ravished Space . . .
The mighty, monumental Void
mothering universes and galaxies
scissored asunder
spreads its light tentacles
lipping and wombing fractured afars -
Light chiselling eyes of worlds
Sound carving noses in nebulae
Touch bubbling rinds in skies
Taste pleasing mouths in earth
Planets nine weaving seasons,
years, acons and wheeling Flux
where centred lies still earth -
its lavas skinned, its flames
flowering icy Everests -
its floods veining Ganga, Krishna, Kaveri,
avalanching Brahmaputra,
Yangtse, Congo, Colorado,
Thames, Hudson, Mississippi,
furied Nile and amazing Amazon.
I dream with the River –
its great birth,
its snaking through plains and pangs,
griefs and clash of depths,
its whirlpool immolations and menstruations.
I cry with the River
I grow with the River
I frolic with the River
I age with the River
I regenerate with the River.
I am one in a six hundred million -
one who won a holocaust of ejections,
of ejections of spermy wars,
fuming and bombing a clefted cliff . . .
juicy delirium
and I skate on slippery slopes -
a capsuled fossil balleting.
Ten score and seventy days
I lay musing
on past sojourns in worlds forlorn.
I remember my Pilgrimage
down the corridors of fractured stars,
promenading algebraic heavens,
scaling skies, shearing seas
and scuttling air -
serpentine animalic humanic . . .
million eyes, million ears, million years.
I lived a Rama : I lived a Krishna :
I spermed flames : I wombed whirlpools :
I lived lives multitudinous.
I cried and cried and cried
Over bleeding conscience crushed :
I weep with Cleopatra
I weep with Cordelia
I weep with Leila-Majnu
I weep with Romeo-Juliet
I weep Desdemona
I shed streams of tears,
rivers of tears, oceans of tears,
Over extinctions of mute millions.
Voodoos, Hindus, Messiah Multitudes
Prophets of Egypt,
Sages of China, Seers of Bharath
silintly slip into solitary temples
question His Everlasting Abode -
question the rigmarole
question the rampage of furied few
question the rape of might on right -
masquerading mammons
leeching muscled masses.
The furnace in space
feeing fuel for suns and moons
writes alphabets inchoate,
splashes cubic vignettes
on canvassed heavens -
