The naysayers in your household will not just be among family members or those closest to you, but you will have naysayers in your own personal household—your mind! Thoughts of inadequacy, inferiority, and past failures will only inhibit you from taking a step. Thoughts like “You can’t do that, remember when you tried and failed?” “You don’t have any money, how are you going to do that?” Leader at work, you are going to have to possess the God kind of faith and believe in yourself. Break out of the self-imposed prison of doubt and unbelief and silence the naysayers in your own mind. How do you silence the naysayers that occupy the space in your mind?
As I mentioned earlier in the book, “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Your mind, will, emotions, imaginations, and intellect have to be transformed. The quickest and most effective way to transform your thinking, and to cast down bleak images that invade your mind would be to speak God’s Word out loud—three times, four times, or five times a day. Why? Because “The Word of God is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and the [immortal] spirit, and of the joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.”
Leave that Dreadful Place of Comfort!
Most people stay in their comfort zone because its safe and familiar territory. However, no growth or real change occurs in a comfort zone. The things you have desired the most are not found in that place called comfort. You think they are—you hope they are, so you wait, and wait, and wait, but nothing changes for you. Metaphorically speaking, people push buggies throughout life in this place; buggies that are filled with empty cans of dreams, boxes of fear, and packages wrapped in hopelessness. People murmur and complain in this place, because of the conventional life this place offers. The naysayers enjoy living here—they would never leave, and they often criticize others who do leave. People lose their creative zest because idleness is welcome here. Many people grow old here, and unfortunately they die here.
What level of comfort have you developed or accepted? Have you accepted that you are a sickly person? Is your comfort level lack? Are you comfortable with letting others lead while you follow? Have the naysayers convinced you that you will never succeed in life? Because what you permit in your life will always continue in your life. What have you been tolerating? Some people have tolerated debt for years. Others have tolerated relationships that lack growth or value. I don’t know your story, but I do know that you do not have to tolerate what you have been tolerating any longer.
The naysayers on the other hand cannot see the finished you. They focus on your past, your imperfections, your ethnicity, your economic status, and your level of intelligence.
