About the Book

Peggy can't get pregnant, David doesn't fit in, Victor is addicted to internet porn, while Clara haunts the dumpsters.  Each sees one of the others as an angel of mercy, helping them to cross the "dry deserts of the soul."

Welcome to Madison Beach!  In this small resort town on Lake Michigan's southeastern shore, lives are mysteriously intertwined with those of people in Chicago and Milwaukee;  all woven together by the water's edge.

Things heat up on a warm summer day when a desperate call to the sheriff's office plunges the entire village into confusion.

Everyday people, facing everyday issues - it takes a lot of tears, AND a lot of laughter to carry them through.

About the Author

This is the first novel for author Harper Cayn.  She has previously published feature articles in newspapers and magazines.  She was even hired to ghost write a short section of the Dungeon & Dragons, Dragonmasters' Guidebook.            That section was devoted to "How to Develop a Character," - fitting, since she does that very well.

Her mystery novels are peopled with characters so fully developed, readers could believe they're based on the family next door.

Harper Cayn lives in south-central Michigan, and loves books, music and animals.  She is currently working on the second book in her Madison Beach series, Cries from the Dry Water’s Edge.

Asked if she is expecting any changes in her life, she replied, “I might buy a purple PT Cruiser.”
