Alternate savings areas: These areas are unique, in that they can be used as satellites or remote areas. They can be out of state or even in the next town. These areas are created for funds or extra funds that can be earmarked for wise use in your future endeavors. These areas may be a combination of strictly savings accts., safe deposit boxes, passbook savings accts, and distant savings accts, (which may be in a different state) for example; in Florida, let’s say that you visited Fla., Every two years and as you know that it can be very expensive to go to the different theme parks ( up to $200.00 for 5 people) this doesn’t include the food that you and your party will require as you burn calories, waiting in the long lines. Pathways in action: Now if you had opened a strict savings acct and deposited $ 25.00 per month for 2 years, then this could have been $600.00!, just waiting for you, to be used at your finger- tips when you arrived there, on vacation! So tell me, when was the last time you gave yourself a $600.00 boost! While on vacation.
Pathways in action; 2nd Mortgages
My first hand experience;
The loan payment report sheet for $25,000.00 is not far from my own experience, the numbers have been changed to protect the innocent.
The loan was for $ 25,000.00 / for home improvements and the term was for 20 years and the rate is as you see, for 11.99% a.p.r. Every month for three years / 36 months, I paid faithfully to them my on time payment every (30 days). My payment was $275.27. After three years, that is about $ 9,909 dollars, I was curious as to how much of my principle balance was down? I thought to my self almost half way there. I called the lender and inquired as to how much of the principle was left, To my drop jaw surprise $ 24,500.00 was left! So in three years I paid out only $ 500.00 which is about $ 13.88 per month!. I was highly upset, and said to myself, self you got to do better than that. I started out with 100.00 per week for 24 weeks but was only able to complete 20 of the 24 weeks. When the dust settled, I was out of the debt by $2,000.00! and all in less than six months. This too is one of the reasons, I wanted to write this book: From Baby steps to Giant Leaps You must remember I also had to keep up with the other bills. The bottom line is that this can be done, I have experienced this and I can say with authority that it works and you must be truly determined so it can happen.
You can use any money amount you desire, it’s up to you.

The title came, as natural as it could be.
It's about you taking an active role, in your own financial situation. Using pathways/methods that work, Baby Steps in the right direction; financially. First the steps may be unsure of but, given some time and practice and some bruises of course, next you’ll find yourself confident in that some of your bills were paid off earlier than expected. Now in this area some of your money is freed up, to take on the next step.
Taking Giant Leaps; (saving money in interest payments, closing paid off; credit card accounts, car loans, 2nd mortgages.) which frees up monies. Some of which you can put into your savings account. Speaking of Giant Leaps some may say, what are you leaping over? Well I say you have probably heard of some people becoming financially shipwrecked; almost always and intentionally making late payments; on all bills. (Meaning some people plan for a certain payment to be late.) now don't get me wrong some people say they can't help it but, late payments, over the limit fees, increased percentage rates; (because of the late payments), a month behind in your mortgage payment, and so on. Nevertheless this is about the title/book and how/ why I selected it. You must remember that this is a active book and will encourage you to be more involved, more in control, of your own finances, so if you don't then, who will? Now you know the Baby Steps that lead to the Giant Leaps, so be Proactive in Pathways that lead to Financial Freedom.

About the Author
Born in 1963, at Fort Meade Army Hospital in Maryland. Raised in Baltimore Md. Lived there for 18 years. Graduating from Lake Clifton H.S. in 1981. Joined the military in 1982, presently still in there, as a reservist working in the field of nursing, License Practical Nurse, which happens to be my occupation in the civilian world. Married for 10yrs., at present with three wonderful children, A life of practicality and just like most who live here in CT., share my hard earned funds with the state and federal agencies in the form of taxes. So there it is a brief look in on, who is writing this book.
