About the Author
Horacio Paul Guerra, IV, MD, MPH, a graduate from Texas A&M, attended medical school at U.T. Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He completed a residency in Family Medicine and entered the U.S. Air Force as a captain. After flight school, he spent most of his flying in F-16 Falcon fighters to understand the demanding flying environment. He later became a pilot and flew a variety of civilian aircraft. He traveled abroad, from a humanitarian mission in Cuba to an aircraft accident investigation in Saudi Arabia. He later obtained a master’s degree in public health and earned numerous awards include The Air Force Longevity Medal, The Air Force Commendation Medal, and The Meritorious Service Medal. He is currently practicing medicine in Waxahachie, Texas and writes medical articles for The Waxahachie Daily Light newspaper.
