CHAPTER

Within the hour Mark would know if his force field shield worked.
If the shield failed Mark along with all the others abroad the Time Craft would
be blown to bits and scattered through out time and space.
It all began one night when a Galaxy suddenly disappeared while
being photographed by the astronomer Westwood. He had seen Galaxy disappeared
but before but never so sudden. The next morning Westwood contacted his astrophysicist
friend Clarence and told him of the event. Can you explain how this could be
possible? How long did it take to disappear? It was gone in just the blink of
the eye. Only a Black Hole could cause it to disappear that quick; however it
would have to be a very large Black Hole to swallow up a Galaxy. You know Clarence
for a long time I've been thinking What if there is a Black Hole large enough
to swallow up the whole Universe. You forget Westwood such a Black Hole would
not explain why the Galaxies were moving away from one another. I have a theory
how it could be possible. I remember when I was 10 years old my father took
me to a science museum that had an exhibit where you would spin one ball after
another around a large funnel shape drum. As I spun the balls I noticed as they
moved toward the smaller hole at the bottom of the drum they distanced themselves
from one another in much the same way a Black Hole works. You may be right Westwood
I'm going to present your theory to my colleague.
Clarence and his astrophysicist colleague spent the next several
months in searching for anything that would support Westwood’s Black Hole
theory. Eventual they turned up a couple of things that confirmed the theory.
One: 90% of matter the Universe should contain were missing. Being drawn into
a Black Hole was a logical explanation. Two: Galaxies are speeding up the further
they move away from their origin. This means some kind of force was effecting
them. The only known force that great would have to be a Super Black Hole. The
question was how could such a Black Hole come into existence.
Being an astronomer Westwood had watched colliding Galaxies
and wondered what caused them to collide. After giving it much thought Westwood
figured the logical explanation was the further the Galaxies traveled away from
the force of the Big Bang that created them the weaker that force became. Then
their gravity pulled them together creating a colliding Galaxy. As the stars
of the colliding Galaxy died they created a Super Black Hole. Westwood’s
Super Black Hole theory was eventually proven.
