About the Book

A lonely American widower finds much more than one-time fun when he strikes up an unusual and enduring friendship with a Costa Rican single mother working as a call girl.

Battling destructive loneliness as a widower, senior citizen racquetball player and linguist Steve Anders goes to Costa Rica for salubrious fun. In meeting most charming Lucrecia Manrique in a nightclub, a single mother with certain plans, everything that can occur happens in a relationship that becomes both highly compatible and controversial in a surprisingly quick fashion. What begins as a commercial arrangement turns into an unusual intimate friendship when Steve enters into contact with Lucrecia’s very unpredictable relatives, neighbors with whom she often argues, and an unpleasant exposure to an ominous gynecologist.

Although communication is excellent since Steve tries to help Lucrecia with her problems in attempting to solve his won in the process, her deep psychological scars from the past, along with some poor values, definitely hurt their close emotional alliance.

Steve struggles with several options; which is the wiser route: End the relationship at a particular point or continue on with the hope of a satisfactory permanent solution? Being aware of the pros and cons of his circumstances with Lucrecia, Steve examines her compatibility against her natural knack for converting his life into a big soap opera. "What are the odds of one factor opposed to the other?"
