The human condition is in a constant state of change as the environment, and people, affects us all our lives. It is here we find the energy, and the splendor of life to write poetry. Here we express our passions, desires, and dreams in terms not so lengthy as novels. We tell our stories, thoughts and loves as eloquently as possible drawing on nature to supply the vigor, and direction to help others understand our meaning.
Most of the poetry, you have probably read, has been stuffy, drawn out, obtuse, vague, and layered losing much of, if not the total meaning of the poem, hiding the intent of the author. The work you're about to read is different, for the reader will see and feel what I felt as I wrote each piece. I have provided several examples of my progress in the hopes the reader understands how I came about with my final product.
Life's experience motivates all of us into action; either into performing, or not. When we feel strongly towards someone, or something, words don't seem appropriate, or don’t come to mind very quickly due to stress, or the inability to put our feelings into words. Trying to express ourselves verbally is one of the most difficult aspects of any relationship. I know. I've been through it time after time.
Here, you will find sentiments, and endearments, that sends one's heart soaring to new heights, bringing understanding and clarity to one's strange feeling once we find that special person. These poems, sentiments will demonstrate what emotions must be like when put into words. This is going to be very different from anything you have read before.
I don’t believe poems must be some long dissertation using pages and pages trying to tell the story, feeling, or observation to get one’s point across. Using the right words, phrases, and scrutiny should be adequate, and precise so the reader understands the first time they encounter the poem. Anything more, I believe, is filler and not necessary.
I will convey my thoughts, feelings and observations on romance, life in general, strength of character, Inspiration and on Christmas in t hi collection. I've made these observations as I walked though life watching, experiencing, and suffering through it all. I believe the romance chapter came about due to the fact that I didn't experience love first hand for a very long time, with the illusion of love, the wanting to feel this emotion motivated me into writing so many heart felt poems.
(Besides, I couldn't ignore the energy behind them. These pieces empowered, and motivated me write them, or I wouldn't sleep that night, or think clearly until I wrote what the poem truly wanted.)
