About the Book

A serial killer, using the Greek god Hermes as his alter ego, murders criminal defense lawyers. Who’s the killer? What’s driving him? How does he make murders look like accidents or suicides?

Rush Jones, criminal prosecutor, unwillingly becomes the murderer’s confidant. The killer telephones him and sends letters with ancient Greek quotations. As Rush investigates the deaths, he attempts to reunite with his former love, criminal defense attorney Ann Cavanaugh, the killer’s probable next victim.

Ann and Rush are opposing counsel in a criminal case unrelated to the serial killer, who changes his MO and commits a brutal murder. Not wanting to be prey for the rest of her life, Ann, a triathlete, purposely disappears, putting her life at risk. Rush discovers the killer’s identity, but will Rush be too late to save his former love?

Dead Lawyers involves the criminal justice system in a way never before portrayed in a novel. Rush, the defense attorneys, and the killer, are all fully human, displaying compassion, commitment, anger, fear, perseverance, fortitude and love, as they follow their convictions.
