Leigh Macneil is Spaz. After seeing all of the negativity surrounding ADHD, Leigh Macneil was inspired to write Spaz: The True Story of My Life With ADHD in 2017. This book tells the story of Leigh’s life growing up with severe ADHD while offering science, suggestions, and information to help people who are little bit “different” find hope and strength from their unique abilities. I Am Spaz is meant to do the same for younger audiences. Leigh, Renee, and their two children currently reside in Lantana, Texas. He works as a sales executive and is still an active, competitive martial artist.
Renee Macneil is a former high school English teacher who holds a Master’s in English from the University of Vermont. I Am Spaz is her second book collaboration with her husband, Leigh. She firmly believes in the positive message of both Spaz books and hopes others will too. She and Leigh have been married since 2006. They have two young daughters. Their oldest will proudly tell you that she has ADHD “just like her daddy”. Renee hopes other children will see that this disorder does not have to negatively define you. It is what makes you, you. Renee is a proud wife and mother who enjoys distance running in her spare time.
