The horse and the hens were still upset. The ducks hadn't found their mamma yet. The turtle was hiding. Where was the ram? The kid took off with the little lamb. About the Book
Bernie, the sheep dog, meets a new member of the farm family. Sam, a little goat, at first appears to be shy. Bobby Jones, Bernie’s master, asks Bernie to help Sam get acquainted. The dog and the goat become partners in crime in this humorous tale. By the end of the day, Bernie and Sam have managed to irritate all the other animals on the farm. But the story isn’t over! There is one more animal on the chair on the front porch!
About the Author
Patricia Hopkins taught first grade and/or music for thirty four years in Illinois. She received the teacher-of -the year award for her county. Each of her first grade classes presented a drama at the end of each year. Following the performance, the children memorized and recited animal poems that Hopkins wrote. This is her Hopkins’ second book in the “Bernie” series. The poem is one of 110 animal poems she has written. Hopkins has been married to Tom for fifty years and is the mother of two daughters and grandmother of eleven grandchildren. She lives in Ottawa, IL. She is active in her church where she serves as a member of her Praise Team and has directed her church choir for the last 50 years. She earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Millikin University in Decatur, IL and her Master of Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL.
