About the Book

“…that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend …what is the width and length and depth and height – to know the love of Christ…that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:16-19) A tree uses its root system to grow larger and stronger. The deeper the roots the healthier and more vibrant the leaves or fruit that it bears. Likewise, we need to pursue spiritual nourishment from our Heavenly Father daily – to sink our roots deep into God’s word for a blessed and fruitful life. “He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:3)

About the Author

Joyce held many job titles during her nearly 50-year work career in Corporate America, but none are as special and dear to her heart now as: GiGi, Grandma, Granny, Mother, Auntie, Cousin, Friend, Neighbor, Bonus Mom, OG, Golden Girl, Life Enrichment Attendance Champion, Peace of the Rock Bible Fellowship Administrator, Senior Adult Ministry Secretary, Volunteer, Retiree and Author. Joyce eased into retirement so comfortably over six years ago, that you would think she had done it before. Each year gets “gooder and gooder”, she says – [those connected to the Peace of the Rock Bible Fellowship Ministry will recognize the “gooder and gooder” slogan from gospel radio station WGUY.live], where Joyce enjoys listening to quartet music, as homage to her great uncles (Fred, Harry and Vencent) who sang in gospel quartet groups. Joyce is a native of Charlotte, NC, a rare breed nowadays. Majority of her family reside in Huntersville, NC. She has seen five generations of family in her lifetime and is now currently blessed with four generations, whom she enjoys “hanging out” with. Following her daily meditation and devotions during the early morning hours, Joyce eases into her day with outdoor flower gardening, indoor plant care, “brief” babysitting moments, family and friends group chat sessions, journaling, word puzzles, lunch outings or porch-side chats. She maintains a peaceful state of mind to be able to hear from God. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15 NIV)
