About the Book
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN THE WORLD BREAKS OPEN AND TIME REFUSES TO STOP? Glimpses of Me is a raw and courageous memoir that invites readers into the moments that forever changed a mother’s life. Following the heartbreaking loss of her twelve-year-old daughter, Brianna, and years later her husband, Chris, Babette Canacari began writing the only way she could: through small, honest glimpses of grief, love, faith, and survival. These glimpses became a lifeline—proof that even in the deepest pain, there are still traces of light worth holding onto. Told with unfiltered honesty and a mother’s unwavering love, this memoir explores what it means to break, rebuild, and choose hope. Through journal-like reflections and deeply personal stories, Babette offers comfort, connection, and a vital reminder: healing isn’t a straight line; it’s a collection of moments that slowly carry us forward. More than a story of loss, this book is a testament to resilience, family, and the power of showing up for your own life, even when it hurts. For anyone who has ever loved deeply, grieved painfully, or searched for meaning after tragedy, Glimpses of Me is a fierce invitation to walk alongside a mother who kept going—and found herself in the process.
About the Author
BABETTE IS A STORYTELLER AND ADVOCATE living in Colorado. She is a mother, Gammy, and nanny who has learned to transform profound loss into purpose. For over 13 years, she has also been an advocate for organ and tissue donation through Donor Alliance, sharing her family’s story to raise awareness and bring hope to others through the gift of life. Her story has reached audiences across the country, including an appearance on LA Ink, as well as local Denver news features. She has spoken publicly about grief, resilience, and the power of community. Babette is the co-founder of The Healing Home Retreat, a sacred space for those walking the path of loss. She is also the founder of Ride for Hope, an annual motorcycle event held during Suicide Prevention Month to raise awareness and honor those we have lost. In addition, she created “I’ll See You Tomorrow,” a suicide awareness initiative rooted in prevention, connection, and hope. As a nanny to children she has loved deeply over the years, Babette has discovered that love, presence, and consistency can be a quiet form of healing. She cherishes the bonds she has built with the families who have welcomed her into their lives. This is her first book—a testament to a life lived in the presence of grief, and a love that never stops reaching toward the light.
