About the Author
Karen Winter was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in West Hollywood, California. She pursued an undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts at Antioch University, Los Angeles, and graduated in 1995. She was accepted at New College of California in San Francisco, California. to pursue a master’s degree in clinical psychology which she attained and graduated in 1997. She continued on the tract of Marriage, Family and Child Psychotherapy; and licensed as a clinician in 2002. She has worked in Women’s Health for over 37 years. In Los Angeles, California for 14 years at Cedar Sinai Medical Towers; in Private Practices for several multi-physician OBGYN’S. Once licensed as a Marriage and Family erapist, she was employed at Kaiser Permanente, for 23 years. and worked in Napa Solano County as a Peri-Natal Substance Abuse Specialist, in the Women’s Health Department. Her dual position included being on sta as a Provider in the Chemical Dependency Department, Vallejo. Karen completed her credential in Certi ed Behavioral Equine Interactive Professional - Mental Health in 2018. She currently has an Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy Practice at Xenophon erapeutic Riding Center in Orinda, California. She resides in Oakland, California with her partner, Tony Dombroski, and two kitties, Scout and Pippin.
