As a Christian woman of God, Leslie honors her Haitian roots while making clear that her artistic invocation is not about practicing Vodou but about reclaiming ancestral rhythm and history as part of cultural truth. Her words uplift, educate, and invite healing—while remaining anchored in faith.
With bold storytelling and unflinching honesty, Leslie invites readers and students alike to challenge harmful narratives, reclaim their crowns, and celebrate the beauty of Black hair in every form.
