About the Author
Thurman W. Robins is a native Houstonian, who participated in various sports throughout his early life. He is the author of seven books. He was a teacher, coach and administrator for more than forty years. He served as department chairperson (Health and Kinesiology) at TSU for 13 years and served as Athletic Director on two separate occasions. Robins is a member of four Hall of Fames: Southern University Athletic HOF, Prairie View Interscholastic League Coaches Association HOF, Texas Black Sports HOF, and Texas Southern University, College of Education HOF. As a retired educator much of his time is spent during historical research, drawing and painting and playing golf.
