I slid my shiny red wheelchair up against the large plastic Mental Health awareness sign until I peered over the wooden slats at the front of the repainted Main Stand. A firework fizzled - green and pink sparks burst into the grey afternoon over the Pontoon Stand to my right, fitted with black and white plastic seats. The row beside me filled with supporters wrapped up in black, white and red hats, scarves and gloves. Brakes clicked and footplates creaked. The wind stung my eyes. I watched my breath float through the air. The scent of onions from overpriced hotdogs hits my nostrils.

About the Book
My name is Samantha Borst. I am 48 years old. I have been disabled from birth and a wheelchair user since my teenage years. I first became interested in football aged 9 (Mexico 1986) because of the players’ short shorts! I began to follow my local football team several years later. I joined the Grimsby Town Disabled Supporters Club in 2006. to attend many of the team’s away fistures. I wrote this book as a lasting memory of the team’s achievements in the 2023 FA Cup Campaign and to promote better facilities for disabled supporters. I also enjoy listening to music, ten-pin bowling and socialising with friends.
